Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert SRT to WebVTT online?
- Paste SubRip (.srt) content or open a file, click Convert, and download .vtt. Timestamps change from comma to dot format and a WEBVTT header is added.
- Is my subtitle file uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs in your browser with JavaScript only.
- Will cue text and timing stay the same?
- Start and end times are preserved; only the format changes to valid WebVTT. Re-import to your player or NLE and spot-check the first cue.
- Can I convert back to SRT?
- Yes. Use our VTT to SRT converter if you need SubRip again after editing in a VTT-only tool.
- Do I need to shift timing after convert?
- Conversion does not change sync. If captions are late, use VTT time shift after converting or shift SRT before convert.
